It's Africa HOT!

This is the part of the year that I don't like too much. It's just too hot! If we're going to be outside, we better be doing something with water. This morning we went to Ashley's house, one of my favorite places, and the boys got to swim. Good thing too because our pool is out of commission. Addy got to play on the trampoline with the sprinkler. The heat doesn't seem to bother them too much. It's funny what we are willing to put up with for our children. If it wasn't for them I would be in hibernation for three months.
We had an interesting weekend. Friday night our air conditioner went out. Of course something like that is going to happen when it's thousand degrees outside. We weren't that bad off though. We had a window unit we put in the living room. Then my wonderful friend, Kim, let us use her window unit so we put that in our bedroom. Between the two, our house stayed pretty nice. Expect the kitchen. I thought for sure our refrigerator was going to die. Luckily they came and fixed it on Sunday.

We went to the Porter Peach Festival on Saturday night. Sorry, but that was so disappointing! They didn't even have peaches. How do you have a peach festival and no peaches?
The kids did eat a lot of completely overpriced food. It was so funny to watch Camo go to town on that corn. Noah wouldn't eat anything we bought for him. Camo ate it. That kid has become a bottomless pit. I remember being like that as a kid. Can't say I've changed to much.

Cutest little girl ever!

I know I biased since I'm her mother, but I sure think she's cute!

What a mess!

Well, this is the first post in the last two weeks! I've not been keeping up with anything all that well lately. In my defense, last week around here was nothing but sick people. Ironically, Noah was the only healthy person. It was quite a depressing week. We didn't get to go anywhere or do anything. So, there just wasn't much to talk about.

But now, everybody is on the mend. The boys have been going with their friend, Kirsten, to VBS all week. It's funny because it's the same one they will be going to at our church next week. Oh, well. The weather has been so nice too! We've been outside a lot the past few days. I'm trying to redo a bench that I found in some one's trash. It's been a fun, but challenging project. The boys have spent most of their time in the back yard...in the mud. They make a water slide with the hose, but they lose interest in that pretty quickly. Before they know it there is a huge mud pit all around their playhouse. What is more awesome than a huge mud pit for boys? They spend hours in it. It's cool with me. That's time that they aren't bugging the crap out of me. I'm not ready to let my little girl join in those festivities though. She sits at the window and watches. I know it won't be too much longer and I'll have to give in if she wants to waller in the mud too. But not now.

Hope everybody else is having a fabulous week too!

A few more Zoo pics

A day at the Zoo

I took the monkey's to the zoo today. It was such a beautiful morning. It amazes me that no matter how many times we go to the zoo, we always see something new each time. Today we saw pelicans that had horns. They are kinda scary looking. They lurked around our picnic table while we ate lunch. This was the first time Addisyn was really into everything she was seeing. It's so cool to see my children discover things for the first time. She really loved the polar bear. Thanks to Ed and Lesa for our Zoo pass. Wanted you to see that we do put it to good use!
