VBS at Northside

I just wanted to let everyone know that our church will be starting VBS July 21st - 25th. It's starts at 6:30pm and is over at 8:40pm. The theme this year is Power Lab: Discovering Jesus' Miraculous Power. I know it's going to be a blast for all the kids. I will post a link to the church's website if you would like more information, or if you would like to register online. We hope to see everybody there!

A little bribery goes a long way

I am so proud of Cameron! We have recently started a chore list for the week. They each have a list to do, and for everything done on the list they get a star. The reward...30 star gets 30 minutes with the parent of their choice, doing whatever they want. Cameron is VERY goal oriented so this has worked perfectly for him. Not only did he do his chores, he was very helpful doing jobs to help me around the house. He wanted his reward this week to be for him and I to go fishing. I'm not very into fishing, but I had an awesome time with him. Neither of us caught anything. We did both enjoy spending one on one time with each other. Now he can't wait to start his list for next week. Can't wait to see what he wants to do next.

Noah on the other hand...doesn't really seem to care that much about it. I know it has alot to do with his age. I'm just going to keep trying different things until I find what works for him. I think I might have to lower the star count for him. 30 seems like alot. Maybe once he gets the chance to experience a reward, he will want to do it more. He's such a good boy.

Washable Diapers???

I'm just curious if any of you out there have ever tried, or known anybody who's tried, cloth washable diapers. I know... ya'll think I'm crazy. But, really it would save SOOOO much money. I figured that if we went to cloth diapers, we could save $2,400 over the next two years. Cha-ching! Steve and I have tried to do as much Green (not the color) things as possible...minus the Suburban and his truck. We're not perfect. There are a lot of different kinds of cloth diapers out there to choose from, so I would like some opinions. Please let me know.

Broken Arrow History

For those of you out this evening, there is still a few hours left to visit the Broken Arrow Museum's Open House. They only have one room done, but you get an overview of what it will look like when it's done. It has three stories, with a nice balcony with a beautiful view of Downtown. They have refreshments and Windstream is giving away prizes. It's only going to be open until 8:00pm, so get out there and check it out. I talked to one of the lady's that works there, and she was telling me that they are almost done with the cover for the Farmer's Market. The other building cover they are building is for an outdoor stage for bands. I think thats awesome! It'll be nice when it's all finally done.

Noah

I just wanted to let everyone know who has been concerned Noah, that he is good. He had a trip to the Urgent Care this weekend for some boy troubles. In the process, they did a urine analysis and told me that he had protein in his urine. They gave me information about it telling me that he was having some kind of kidney problems. So, we were a little freaked out. I took him in to see Dr. Daley today and he redid the tests and it came back just fine. He said the other doctor was a little bit of overkill. Thank goodness it's not anything serious.

Bright Sunshiny Day

Yeah! We finally we able to venture out of the house today. The boys were gone to Mother's Day out at our church, so it was just Addy and I. We went with Stacy to Tastee Treat for ice cream, then to the park to play. The park at Central Park really needs more than one baby swing. But, that's okay...we improvised. Baby Tandem Swing. Works Great! On a different note, adults should be weary of children's toys. Can cause serious injury...just ask Stacy.

A BIG Thanks

I want to tell my dear friend, Ashley, how grateful I am for her generosity. She gave me a wonderful opportunity to use her camera to take a photography class. I had so much fun in the last five weeks. Thank you so much Ash!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

I don't know about the rest of you, but we are so tired of all the rain. Having three small children cooped up in the house does not make for a good time. We are making the most of it though. We have made plenty of trips to the library. They have a wonderful summer reading program. We have also become the Cookie Factory. I think Noah might become some kind of chef some day. That boy loves to cook! I sure would like the sun to come out and warm up our pool. The kids are dying to swim.
